PRECAUTION YOU SHOULD TAKE WHILE PAINTING WITH WATERCOLOR

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

1. Protect your work surface: Place a waterproof covering on your work surface, such as a plastic sheet or a drop cloth. This will protect your surface from getting wet or stained by paint.

2. Wear old clothes or an apron: Watercolors can be messy and difficult to remove from clothing, so it's best to wear old clothes or an apron while painting.

3. Use a palette: Always use a palette to mix your paint colors, rather than mixing them directly on your work surface. This will prevent your paint from spreading and bleeding into other areas.

4. Use a light touch: Watercolors are transparent and can be easily blended, so it's important to use a light touch when applying paint. Start with a small amount of paint and gradually build up the color as needed.

5. Work from light to dark (Most importantly): When layering colors, it's best to start with lighter colors and gradually add darker colors. This will prevent your paint from becoming muddy or overworked. As in the given picture you can learn that distant mountain were drawn before in the series.

6. Allow time for drying: Watercolors take time to dry, so be patient and allow each layer to dry completely before adding additional layers or details.

7. Store your materials properly: After painting, clean your brushes and store them properly in a dry place. Store your paint tubes or pans in a cool, dry place to prevent them from drying out.

By following these precautions, you can ensure that your watercolor painting experience is enjoyable and successful!
